« Ferreira is dazzling, without landmarks or idols. (...) his production in short, is not just a painting, but a controlled burst ». These are the words of Levi-Dos Santos about David Ferreira, an artist from Pau, France who made spontaneity a distinctive style.

Former surveyor, he had long repressed his creative energy, the young artist brilliantly combines the mathematical rigor of his old career into a vibrant tumult of inspiration! In fact, the colors play alongside equations and mathematical puzzles.

Thus, being self-taught and a turbulent bad boy, he left the brushes, preferring the trowel, the compass, and other objects as his painting tools.

David Ferreira does not compose, he builds a work by overlapping layers of paint and plexiglass. Resulting on canvases where the depth and shadows game prevail. The brush, is not a tool, but becomes an ornament or theme.

His work is a whole pained biography. Ferreira becomes « Toto », a character of his childhood, and we discover his wife which he "Warholizes" or with whom he parties « Toto’s Party » on a background of colorful balloons. Also, his favorite number, 15, following various happy family events, appears regularly as a second signature.

The artist draws from his classical knowledge, including the works of Jean-Michel Basquiat which he makes frequent references. He also attaches great importance to the pictorial composition and emotions it returns. The bright, dense colors project us to his inner world where "Happy Art" unfolds fully.

The artist that proposes a "Sensory painting, sensual, ... a painting that goes beyond" is now on display around the world: Brussels, Israel, London, Milan, New York, Paris, Toronto and Stockholm! Whether we love it or hate it, this resolutely personal and intimate painter does not leave anyone indifferent by its singular artistic identity.
